Name: Vanyo Tirunul

Age: 26

Birthday: Oct. 16

  Star Sign: Libra

Height: 5' 11" (180cm)

Weight: 163 lbs (73.9 kg)

Family: Hilika (Wife), Jelisi (Mother[Deceased]), Ohnto (Father[Deceased])

Job:

Healer (2nd Class)
As one of the only 2nd Class healers left in his race he was tasked with a search for knowledge to cure the disease affecting his race. He acts as a part time healer on board the train as well as a healer to any people off the train who need it. He does charge a price when healing people off the train though, and maybe even a little extra if he thinks it was a tough job. Though occasionally he'll heal someone for free, but only if they seem like they can't afford it or if he's feeling particularly nice at that point in time.

Healers are designated by 4 classes which are as follows:

4th class -  The most common gift of healing. These healers are gifted with the ability to heal spiritually and emotionally. These people are usually therapists or priests/priestesses and the like. Very few in this class can heal physical wounds or diseases.

3rd Class - aren't very gifted in healing wounds of flesh and bone variety (some can't heal that at all). A few are able to heal spiritually and emotionally, but that's uncommon. They are however more adept in curing diseases or other illnesses (e.g. cancers, infections, viruses etc.)

2nd Class - This is Vanyo's class. People in this class are gifted in all means of healing, however, they do so at a slower rate compared to the other classes. To make up for this though they're able to learn new spells more quickly and they possess above average endurance.

1st Class - The rarest gift of healing. These healers are gifted in all means of healing except spiritually and emotionally. This class heals fast and efficiently, and is said to even be able to bring a body back to life, even after it's been dead for a few hours. Some healers in this class need more than once session to completely heal someone, as they have lower than normal endurance.

Creature: Seowisp

Average Male Height - 5'8" (173cm)
Average Female Height - 5'6" (168cm)
Average Age of Death (Male) - 56 years
Average Age of Death (Female) - 62 years
Most Common Eye Colour - Green (though they're just as diverse in colours as humans)
Most Common Hair Colour - Brown/black (red is just slightly less common, blond is rarely seen)
Most Common Powers - (most common to rarest) Heat/flame/light, water/ice/cold, earth/rock, healing, life(growing of plants)

According to the history books, the Seowisp people originally were sighted, without magic and lived above ground, they flourished and prospered for thousands of years. Their technology was developed to the equivalent of the early 2000s on Earth, though there were more advancements in the way of clean energy production for powering homes and vehicles. In fact the Seowisp people were identical to humans in nearly every way except for their ears being a bit longer and pointier as well as being more environmentally conscious compared to the humans of Earth.

Nearly a thousand years ago however the Seowisp people were faced with a life and death dilemma. A bright star appeared in the night sky, over several days growing larger and larger until it was even visible in the daytime sky. A meteor. The people debated on how to save the world, though there was no solution with their current technology. Most people fled to the other side of the world from where the impact would take place, thinking distance meant safety and fearing the caves would collapse in the violent impact. Though a few thousand decided to flee to the safety of the caves that stretched out for hundreds of miles under the surface of the planet.

The people who fled underground brought what they could, they didn't know how long they were going to be underground after all. They lived for the most part, feeding on the animals that lived in the caves such as Hyuenien Boar, though many died from cave ins during and after the impact. The ones that did survive reproduced and built a stable population underground, first building homes, and after many generations a city. No one knows what happened to those who stayed above ground as the way to the surface collapsed in the meteorite impact. Though there is a high change that there's another exit from the caves, many believe the world above them to be dead and stripped of life because of the disaster so no one has really bothered to look for one.

After a few years of living underground, the Seowisp people faced yet another crisis. The pool of water that they'd found and built their homes around had run dry, the stream that had fed it had been blocked by a collapse in one of the tunnels. They had to find water fast and so they sent an expedition team to locate one. After several days and the last of the expedition members almost out of what little water they had, stumbled on a pool of water deeper down in the caves. This pool was surrounded by glowing crystals both in and out of the water. Thirsty, they drank and drank and gathered enough to bring back to the other people. Eventually they relocated to this pond, building their homes close to it. It quickly became their main and only water source. It didn't take them long to figure out that something might be wrong with the water though. Many of them reported that they were starting to have trouble seeing, no matter how many candles were lit. Then it was noticed that there was a faint glow to their eyes, similar to the crystals that surrounded the pool of water they were drinking from. Concerned they decided to only use what water was absolutely needed from that pool, while others searched for another water source. After a month of searching they managed to find one, but by then the first child of the underground Seowisps was born. This child was born nearly blind, and although most people had a faint glow to their eyes, this child's eyes glowed just as brightly as the crystals themselves. Other than the glowing eyes and the near blindness, the child was otherwise completely healthy. The other children that followed were the same, and as they grew older, many of them learned of the strange abilities they had. Magic. Something that the previous generation never had. Some had the gift to produce heat, others the gift to move rock to build homes, others the gift to heal. With each new child a new gift appeared. This made the people start drinking more and more from the crystal pool, some even suggested that it was meant for them. That some higher power had given it to them because of all the struggles they've had. This idea quickly spread and a new religion was formed to worship the god that had provided them with the means to survive and magical powers.

Nearly a thousand years after these events and the population underground has flourished. An underground city developed with a population of close to 600,000. About a year or so ago the wall of the basin collapsed into the pool, revealing another separate cave system on the other side. They didn't really think much of it, until people started getting sick. The first week ten people, then the next 100, then the next 1,000. Then the first people who got sick started to die. They stopped drinking the water from the pool, switching to another water source, though it was a bit unreliable. Still people got sick, still people died, despite the efforts of the 3rd class healers. Within a few months, the population had gone from close to 600,000 to 100,000. More than half the city was empty, the burial chamber full, bodies piling up. In desperation they decided to send one of their 2nd class healers to find a cure or at least figure out what it is that's killing them off.

Dimension: Seodunia

One Day Length - 36 hours
One Year Length - 318 days
Average Day Time Temperature - 25C (77F)
Average Night Time Temperature - 12C (54F)
Average Underground Temperature - 18C (64F)

The surface of the planet was filled with many different varieties of plants and animal species. Most of the world was tropical like conditions though closer to the poles of the planet were more subboreal. A single large but shallow ocean was spread across a quarter of the planet while the landmass was mostly flat it did become quiet hilly in some places, no mountains existed however. What lies on the surface now is unknown. It is thought to be barren and lifeless after the meteorite impact.

Many cave systems lie in the underground of Seodunia, in some of them formations of glowing crystals and jewels. Unlike earth the animals of these caves aren't just composed of bats and insects. Boar, squirrels, rabbits and Leopards live here. In the pools of water fish and eel even live. Though most of them are blind or have poor eye sight. Even plants are able to grow underground. These don't need the sun for photosynthesis and instead live off of the minerals in the rock or grow on and around the carcasses of the dead.

Personality:

Vanyo is a rather playful and easygoing person, usually making a joke at someone else's expense, thinking he's rather funny. He's perverted but not to the point to where he'd put his hands down anyone's pants without consent of some kind. Because of this he can be a tease, intentionally trying to heat someone up for his own amusement. Though he can be short tempered if someone pokes at him the wrong way, quickly making him snappy and rude. Depending on how far he's pushed he can even become cold and hurtful. He's usually foul-mouthed not caring if he offends someone with his cursing or talking about lude things. Despite being blind he's confident in himself, perhaps even to the point of being over-confident in some areas. He can be rather bold as well, not hesitating to stand up to someone much stronger than him and hardly showing any fear or hesitation. Even though he's like this he can also be kind to those he thinks needs some kindness in their lives, and on some occasions will go out of his way to be helpful to someone. Strangely that's one of the few things that makes him embarrassed. Though he doesn't often do favours for free. He's a money lover but not to the point of being greedy. He just won't do something for free that he could be getting paid for doing. He's not very interested in children, finding them to be disgusting and dirty and way to loud. Marriage is also something he doesn't have much interest in, he would much rather do what he wants and lay with who he wants to rather than being committed to a single person. When it comes to the issue of his people, he can be easily overwhelmed and frustrated, which is understandable with a whole race of people riding on his shoulders. His biggest fear is loosing his race, letting everyone down and being the only survivor. Another thing he is afraid of is being some place where he can't feel the ground under his feet, and he would most definitely panic if he couldn't hear or touch anything.

History:

Vanyo is a single child, like most Seowisp kids were, only a handful had siblings. Vanyo didn't care though. He got more attention from his parents that way. When he was 5 it was discovered what gift he possessed. The gift of healing. Which was odd for a heat caster and a earth mover, but not unheard of. He was put into the school for young healers months afterwards and began his training. He learned the basic spell, healing touch, fairly quickly and by the time he was 7 was already placed with the 2nd class healers where he learned and perfected more spells. His life was fairly normal for a Seowisp, learning his gift at school, going home and helping his parents, mostly his mother, clean and look after their house. His father was often out preparing sections of cave for more crops to be grown in to feed the city.

His 18th birthday was both a celebration and a disappointment for him. He had graduated from healing school, become an official member of the 2nd class healers and now it was the time for him to move from his parents and start life in his new home. Only the last one he cared about. He partied with his friends for the best part of the day, having a blast and even getting drunk on caveberry wine. After the partying was over and he had healed himself from the hangover the next morning, he packed his bags and went to say bye to his parents before leaving for his home. It was then that his parents informed him of the requirement for having his new home, saying they didn't want to spoil his birthday the day before. They explained that in order for him to have a home he had to have a family, and to have a family he would have to have a wife. This was tradition for Seowisp people, to continue their race and keep the population up. Who knew when another disaster would happen? This small population would be wiped from existence. Vanyo detested the idea of marriage, and even more so the idea of having children. Kids were weird little demons. He knew, he was one once. He was angry that they sprung this on him, nearly yelling at them. Though he knew that they were right and reluctantly agreed. He left afterwards, heading to his new home. Apparently his fiance was already there and waiting for him. Hilika sounded beautiful enough and he touched her face to 'see' her. She seemed pretty enough. She told him he was rather handsome and his voice was attractive, but she didn't sound to enthusiastic. Two weeks later they were married and right after the ceremony they began to try and produce offspring. As they lived together it soon became quite clear that they weren't exactly fond for one another. Butting heads often, especially when it came to matters of the bedroom. Eventually though Hilika became pregnant. Vanyo didn't know whether to be relieved or devastated. On one hand he didn't have to put up with the boredom of trying to get her pregnant, on the other... she was pregnant. Either way though, he looked after her and made sure she had what she needed, even checking up on the progress of the cells inside her as they began to form into what might eventually be a child. It didn't get that far though. 6 weeks after she declared her pregnancy the child was lost in a miscarriage. After that Hilika wasn't the same, she was even worse than before. Even after she'd come to terms with the loss of her bundle of cells. She was always complaining about him, always had something to pick on. It drove him up the wall, so he went to look for something to keep him away from the house. He hated her. After asking around he was given a job to go to the outskirts of the main caves to the city to help doctor and look after the men and woman that fought off beasts, such as cave leopards, that tried to get into town to eat the easy prey of livestock. It was here that he learned the basic sword skills, just to protect himself in case of separation from the group. He kept this job, not that he liked it, but it kept him away long enough so that the bitching at home died down.

Four years later is when the disease began to spread. It started on the opposite end of the city to where he lived, so his parents were among the first to die. This effected him deeply, he wouldn't admit it, but he did love them, even if they made him marry a bitch of a woman. Vanyo was called on as a healer to assist in the pandemic, though it was quickly realized that healing had no effect. He watched the people around him die one by one. His family, friends, workmates. First they grew blisters over their skin which became infected and full of pus. The skin began to rot and smelled horrible. The eyes would then start to bleed and swell shut. Hair would fall out in handfuls, finger and toenails would fall off. All food would be thrown up, and eventually they would drown as their lungs filled with their own blood. It was a horrible sight and it was terrifying. No one knew how it spread, what caused it or if there was even a cure. The city became eerily quiet.  Finally one of the few remaining 1st class healers suggested that a 2nd class healer be sent off to try and find a cure. They were able to learn and perfect spells much more quickly than the other healers. There were 5 people who were in this class. 2 were under the age of 13. One was a 59 year old woman and the other was 30 but he was showing the first symptoms of the disease. All eyes fell on Vanyo, who agreed to go. He didn't want this pressure on him, and he didn't want the annoyance of it. But it would get him away from this horror and if he could find a cure then he was sure he'd be held as a hero. The 1st class healer told him of a train that he would be sent on, one that only showed itself to people who wanted to leave their world. Apparently it had shown itself during desperate times before, back when the first class healer was around Vanyo's age. Things were quickly arranged for Vanyo, so he could travel aboard a dimension hopping train as a part-time doctor. He couldn't ride for free after all, no matter the circumstances. He said goodbye to his wife several days later, who responded with a nod and soon after he was standing at the spot where he was told that the train had been seen before. He was just starting to get impatient after 30 minutes of waiting, when suddenly it seemingly appeared out of nowhere. Though he was sure it entered dramatically to those who could see it. As the train arrived he turned towards the city he'd lived in his whole life, tapping his cane on the ground, the sound echoed around the area, giving him one last 'look' before he turned and stepped aboard the train.

Skills:

Healing Touch - His hand is placed on, over or close to the wound. Closer the better and faster the healing process. A warmth spreads from his hand to circle the affected area and heal it. Slower to heal than Healing Flame but more thorough, down to the cell if used for long enough. Since this takes a lot of effort and concentration on the caster's part Vanyo is usually left tired afterwards. Cannot cast on himself.

Healing Flame - Can cast a green flame that heals rather than burns, the flame is warm like the body heat of another person. A quick fix sort of heal. Used for quickly closing up wounds in battle. These flames aren't like normal flames and cannot be put out with water or wind, the flame will go out if Vanyo is attacked or the person healing cannot stay still. Can cast on himself.

Cradle of Flames - The person he is healing is laid down in a bed of green flames which are kept burning for hours or even sometimes days. This spell is usually only used on those who's life is in danger of being lost, and it is said to have been used to even heal souls in the past. These flames aren't like normal flames and cannot be put out with water or wind. This take massive amounts of concentration to maintain the flames, if disturbed they will go out. Depending on the severity of the wound being held, Vanyo is most likely to collapse from exhaustion after casting this spell. Cannot cast on himself.

Sleeping Touch - His hand is placed on the person he wishes to effect and he reverses his healing magic to quickly make them become exhausted and force them into deep sleep or unconsciousness. This takes about half of a minute of constant touch and he has to coax their brain into it. He can't just simply touch them and they pass out. Cannot cast on himself.

Basic Sword skills - He has only learned the basics of defending and attacking with a sword, though he's not very good at it and is still practicing.

Weaknesses:

His healing spells pass part of the injury that he is healing onto himself as payment. If he were healing someone with a broken bone, he would get a fracture. Though if he is healing a sickness then he just experiences some of the symptoms for an hour or two.

In order to effect someone with some of his magic he must come in contact with an organic part of them that's still attached to their body.

While he doesn't think of his blindness as a weakness, he is starting to realize that unlike his world, not everything is suited for someone who can't see.

He isn't that strong physically.

Stats:
          Health: 250
          Magic: 100
          Attack: 80
          Defense: 35
          Speed: 35

Weapons: Sword Cane, reverse healing magic

Items: Sword Cane, thigh bag, money, snacks, bandages, water skin containing water from the crystal pool

Likes: Money (but he isn't greedy about it), sex, breezy days, soft chimes and bells, sounds of various instruments, running water, various textures.

Dislikes: Sounds that are to loud, his wife, blind religious followers, ridiculous prices, bright light (especially sunlight), people treating him like he can't do anything on his own because of his blindness.

Misc. Facts:

- He doesn't like to wear shoes as it muffles the vibrations that come through the floor/ground
- The orbs on his cane and necklace only glow when they touch him. The reason for this is unknown. He didn't even know they did that.
- His eyes glow green
- He can't heal injuries to himself caused by the payment of healing.
- The sheath of his sword cane is specially made to vibrate and ring when tapped on the ground. This sound echos far and the sound bounces back to Vanyo's ears allowing him to 'see' the area around him. Kind of like echolocation. This is what it sounds like: www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3GazT…

RP Sample:

Slow clicking could be heard on the other side of the dining car door. The clicking gradually getting louder until it fell silent. A few seconds later and the door slid open, Vanyo standing in the doorway, his eyes closed. One tap, and another tap of his cane on the floor and a small tilt of his head as he turned it in the direction that he was interested in. He was hungry, and he could smell the food. Slowly and carefully, since this was his first time in this particular car, he made his way over to the buffet. Once he reached it, he simply stood there. This was difficult. In his world he could tell what different foods were going to taste like by their shape or texture. But here, all the foods were different. He wasn’t even sure what he should try and pick up. He sighed heavily, then clicked his tongue. Something caught his attention. It was shaped like Hyuenien Boar rolls, slowly he reached for it. This train was a problem, it was nearly like learning to see again, well by see he meant knowing the world around him. Many things here were different not meant for blind people to navigate in.
